Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese’s Take on Teddy Roosevelt

Any Other Director Who Wants to Work With Leo

Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese have already collaborated on five feature films and have a few more in the works, so what’s another one? The pair are now pitching a biopic of our lesser Roosevelt president Teddy, titled Roosevelt; Paramount Pictures is in final negotiations to secure the project. It seems like a fitting choice for the eco-minded DiCaprio’s first presidential role considering Roosevelt is best known for his conservation efforts and starting the National Parks Service. DiCaprio hasn’t acted since his Oscar winning-performance in The Revenant, but also has two other Scorsese films in the pipeline: They’ll team up for a movies based on true crime book Killers of the Flower Moon and are reportedly interested in doing the same with the book The Devil in the White City. DiCaprio is also attached to The Black Hand, another true crime book adaptation, but this one is yet to have a director involved. Though it seems DiCaprio doesn’t have much time for directors who aren’t Scorsese. However, the announcement should put to rest those crazy rumors that the actor-director pair might come together to make a movie about the Joker anytime soon.

140 Characters

Social media—love it or hate it, you still probably hate a whole lot of things about it on some level. Well, two of the biggest social media networks made some huge changes on Tuesday. The more notable, perhaps, is the fact that Twitter is testing the doubling of its trademark character limit of 140 to 280. Which, at the very least, should cut down on the number of annoying tweet threads, but does little to deal with Twitter’s more obvious problems: trolling, hate speech, and the like. On the flip side is Instagram, which announced it's finally giving people more options to limit trolling. Users will now get to control who can comment on their posts, and will also introduce tools to anonymously report anyone who may seem suicidal.

Sofia Vergara, Hollywood’s Highest-Paid Actress

Film Actresses

It really is a great time to be on television; especially considering the highest-paid actress in America right now happens to be on the small screen. Forbes estimates that Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara earned $41.5 million in the past year, making her TV’s highest-paid actress and giving her $15.5 million more than Forbes highest-paid film actress, Emma Stone. Also notable is that the top-ten list on television includes Kerry Washington, Mindy Kaling, and Priyanka Chopra, though the film list featured no other women of color. Of course, if you want to make those big bucks, you still have to stay on network television. Nine of the entrants on the list come from shows on broadcast networks.
