“The great thing about getting older is you don't have to do/wear/say anything you don't want to. It wasn't until my very late 30s that I stopped worrying about what other people thought."

Kate Moss’s Wardrobe, According to Her Daughter

If Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, was the breakout face of New York Fashion Week, maybe it only makes sense that the talk of London Fashion Week is none other than Kate Moss’s daughter, Lila Grace Moss Hack. Though Hack, whose father is magazine editor Jefferson Hack, hasn’t hit the runway quite yet, she’s attended her first-ever fashion show alongside Mom at the Topshop show. BFF (and daughter of rocker Mick Jones) Stella Jones was also on hand. Hack already has a few print credits to her name. She landed an ad campaign for British hair chain the Braid Bar and, oh yeah, appeared on the cover of Italian Vogue alongside her mother last year. Still, she’s only 14, so she’s a few years away from walking her first catwalk…assuming she wants to follow her mom’s footprints in the first place. Which might not be the case, considering both her parents are on record talking about how their daughter doesn’t necessarily find them or the fashion world that cool. In fact, Moss recently revealed that her daughter often disapproves of her wardrobe choices and tries to get her to change.

The Emmy Awards’ Ratings

Well, the Emmys narrowly escaped hitting an all-time ratings low. The Stephen Colbert–hosted ceremony came in just barely above last year’s record low ceremony. Of course, discussion of whether the show’s progressive-leaning political content played a part in the ratings is already ablaze on the Internet (nevermind that, as evidenced by several think pieces and angry tweets, the left isn’t exactly pleased with the Sean Spicer cameo), but the truth may be more boring. Emmys ratings have been trending steadily down since 2013, and the number of viewers who tuned in to watch it online Sunday night wasn’t taken into account in the latest report. There’s also the fact that many of the shows recognized aren’t exactly highly rated in the first place. A Katz Media Group survey found that only 5 percent of respondents had actually watched Sunday night’s drama winner The Handmaid’s Tale (compared to the 56 percent who say they’ve seen Modern Family). Just 10 percent have seen an episode of Veep, and only 17 percent have watched Westworld. Certainly the country is fractured at the moment, but the Emmys’ real ratings trouble may have more to do with cultural fragmentation than outright political fragmentation.

Those Fascists

One entertainer not afraid to mix politics with her art is Madonna, who opened her 2015 Rebel Heart tour with a video proclaiming “When those fascist dictators posing as righteous men come for you…be prepared to fight for what you believe in.” Now, of course, she doesn’t mind if she gets a little credit for foreseeing this whole mess. “The winds were changing, and people were becoming more and more fearful and marginalized,” she said in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. “I thought we were going backwards on a lot of the progress that we’ve made as the human race. So cut to my Rebel Heart tour and then the election and then what’s happened in the rest of the world—of course I’m saying I predicted it. I’m sure I’m not the only one.”
