“It’s about finding new voices of color and new diverse voices and really walking the walk. There are a lot of Donalds, there are a lot of Sterlings, and there are a lot of me's out there."

It and Gossip Girl’s Cut Scenes

Going All the Way

Current box office sensation It and former guilty pleasure Gossip Girl don’t have all that much in common. One is a nail-biting horror movie; the other was a notoriously controversial teen soap that just happens to be celebrating its 10th anniversary this week. Turns out, though, that It could have been even creepier and Gossip Girl could have been much more controversial. In a new interview, Pennywise actor Bill Skarsgård said a scene that was just too scary was cut from the film. "There was a scene we shot that was a flashback from the 1600s, before Pennywise [was Pennywise],” he said. “It's very disturbing, and sort of a backstory for what It is, or where Pennywise came from.” No word on what it was, but the Internet thinks it may have involved It eating a child in front of his mother. On the flip side are all the scenes that GG executive producers admitted the CW just wouldn’t let them film. “There were dildos [Georgina] sent to Dan at the house, and we had these really huge dildos in this house that Penn [Badgley, who played Dan] was so shocked to see—but we cut it because you couldn’t show them on air,” producer Joshua Safran admitted in an interview with Vulture. Too intense for the CW, but at least no children would have been eaten.

Being Uncultured

If there’s one thing that brings the Knowles-Carter family together aside from music, it might be visual art. Everyone from Solange to Miss Tina is a noted patron of the arts, but it's Beyoncé and Jay-Z whose art collection moves are watched more closely. In fact, while the power couple was in New York this week, they hit up a series of buzzy shows. The pair had the Fort Gansevoort space shut down for a private tour of young artist Sadie Barnett’s latest solo show, “Compland.” The pair were also recently spotted at the Bridge, a mini-art fair held at a Hamptons golf course, where they took in the works, and Beyoncé was spotted holding a popsicle in a way few humans have held a popsicle before.

Fur

Earlier this year, Pamela Anderson got First Lady Melania Trump to make [her newfound personal anti-fur policy public](https://www.wmagazine.com/story/melania-trump-fur-twitter-like). Now the animal rights activist is setting her sights on America’s other first lady: Kim Kardashian West. After Kardashian West recently paid tribute to Anderson in a photoshoot, the pair hung out during New York Fashion Week. Afterwards, Anderson addressed a public letter to the reality star pleading with her to forgo fur coats in the future. "You know I love you, and you can be a hero for animals as well as a great example to all your beautiful followers by swearing off fur," Anderson wrote. "Please do the right thing. You'd be praised all over the world, including by my close friends at PETA." So far, no response from Kardashian West—and it should be noted she continued to wear fur even after her sister, Khloe, posed for a PETA campaign.

Maurizio Cattelan
@MaurizioCattelan

When we last spoke to Maurizio Cattelan, the artist best known for putting a gold toilet inside the Guggenheim Museum, he admitted he may not be quite cut out for Instagram and didn’t even own a smartphone. Apparently, he’s changed his tune since 2015. He’s now joined the service, but with a twist: He’ll only have one photo in his feed at a time, presumably deleting and re-uploading whenever he wants to update.
