Now, she’s almost certainly the world’s model of the moment. She’s on the cover of five September issues throughout the world. That’s more than anyone else, and that includes Vogue Arabia’s inaugural September issue and both Chinese Vogue and Chinese Harper’s Bazaar. She’s got all matter of campaigns and contracts, everything from NARS to Nike to Max Mara Accessories to DKNY to more we’re likely forgetting. Coming September, she’ll certainly be one of the most in-demand models during Fashion Month (though, how many runways she ultimately walks remains to be seen-and at this point it behooves her to be picky). Yet, for all her success, Hadid is already thinking about her post-modeling career. She wants to act. She says she’ll get lessons, and hopes to one day nab a nomination. Some may snicker, but, hey, remember what some were saying about her just a year ago? In any event, she certainly wouldn’t be the only former model to get an Oscar nomination. | | | | In Trump’s World, We’re Not Even Sure Anymore | | | | Following a press conference at Trump Tower on Tuesday ostensibly to promote the pressing matter of an executive order lessening red tape to get permits for infrastructure projects, President Trump took questions from the press, and in another shocking but not surprising moment, doubled down on blaming “both sides” for the violence in Charlottesville's over the weekend and pointed out that at least it was the alt-right demonstrators who had permits. The reaction on Twitter was fierce and united. Yet, Trump does have at least one celebrity supporter still. Paris Hilton spoke to Marie Claire recently and not only doubled down on her decision to vote for Trump, but said that women who accused Trump of wrongdoing were just “trying to get attention and get fame.” Not good timing for Hilton who was trying to usher in a sort of renaissance for herself. In any event, we’re now very confused on both Trump’s stance on permits and Hilton’s stance on attention and fame. | | | | The wider world continues to make fun of Balenciaga’s $1,100 shopping bags and Prada’s sterling silver paperclips, but let it be known that it was New York City skate label Supreme that once put their logo on a brick and sold it. The brand is at it again, this time selling branded chopsticks. Though, that’s nothing compared to the Supreme-branded money they plan to sell. No, really, a wad of hundred dollar bills gathered in a Supreme wrapper and enclosed in lucite is part of their latest lookbook. The brand is also collaborating with furniture makers Artek for a red armchair that is upholstered in the f-word, and have a hoodie with Piss Christ artist Andres Serrano. | | | | | | | | | | | | | Young Thug, 26 (Still Factually Young) Arden Cho, 32 (Teen Wolf Vet) Steve Carell, 55 (America’s Boss) Madonna, 59 (Somehow Blonder and More Ambitious Than Ever) Angela Bassett, 59 (Ryan Murphy’s Latest Muse) James Cameron, 63 (Still Working on Those Avatar Sequels) Kathie Lee Gifford, 64 (Morning Wine Enthusiast) | | | | | | |
