Just when you thought all of Harvey Weinstein’s evils have been brought to life, Salma Hayek came forward with her own tale that is harrowing to read and details the ways in which Weinstein’s abuses affected both the careers and the work of the female filmmakers and artists he worked with. Hayek says that throughout her early career she repeatedly had to tell Harvey “no.” “No” when he showed up at her hotel room doors unannounced. “No” when he wanted a nude massage. “No” when he tried to get her to makeout with a female prostitute. Once he even threatened to kill her. Eventually, however, Frida, Hayek’s passion project, wound up being produced by Weinstein’s Miramax, and to no one’s surprise he proved himself a boorish and misogynistic producer. He complained of how Hayek wore a unibrow to play the famously unibrow-ed Frida Kahlo because he thought it ruined her sex appeal. He tried to get her fired from the picture that she herself had spent years putting together. He demanded that she shoot a sex scene with another woman, with full frontal nudity. And yet Hayek persisted in her dream of telling the story of one of the most important cultural figures of her native Mexico. Still, even after all that, Weinstein threatened to dump the film on DVD. Hayek and director Julie Taymor maneuvered to get an actual release. It wound up winning two Oscars and made almost five times its budget at the box office. Hayek’s full harrowing tale is really worth a read.

Can you remember a time when Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner weren’t pregnant? It feels like seasons have changed, years have gone by, empires have risen and fallen, the continents have shifted, and yet, Khloe and Kylie have been pregnant through it all. All without bothering to tell us. Well, according to hints dropped in the latest promo spot for Keeping Up With the Kardashians we may finally know when we’ll get at least one if not both of those confirmations: 2018. Yes, it seems they’ll finally spill the beans that everyone knows are already spilled when the show returns next January. Oh, brother. Turns out they could take some pointers from Zendaya about how to keep some secrets. Around the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, rumors flew that she was seeing costar Tom Holland. The pair publicly laughed it off, and most of us sort of forgot about it. Well, the rumors are back! Various outlets are reporting that the pair is getting closer and Holland recently met Zendaya’s parents. At the rate we’re going, maybe we should expect them to finally choose to go public sometime before a Kardashian konfirmation.

Donald Trump began Wednesday dealing with the embarrassing (for him, anyway) loss of Roy Moore in the Alabama special election to fill Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s former Senate seat. Turns out spite and Steve Bannon’s ugly website can’t get an accused child abuser elected no matter the deep redness of the state. Then word broke that Omarosa Manigault Newman was suddenly leaving the administration. You may recall her as the person who practically invented the trope of the narcissistic reality TV villain on The Apprentice and who, despite being twice fired by Trump on television, snagged a job in his Office of Public Liaison. Of course, her tenure was messy (that included the time she reportedly might have crashed the White House to take wedding photos), but there are now unconfirmed reports that she was “physically dragged” from the White House after Chief of Staff John Kelly fired her. Yikes. Still, can you imagine any other president who both saw the alleged child molester he backed lose his election and fire the literal TV villain he had hired in the same term, let alone the same day? So much for the man who bragged on the campaign trail, “I'm going to surround myself only with the best and most serious people.”
