To underscore the sort of 2017 Bella Hadid had, no model had more international fashion magazine covers—including celebrities—than she did. She scored 12, to be exact, and that’s in between fronting numerous campaigns and being on just about every runway worthy of her. Thankfully, even supermodels get some time to chill around this time of year, and Hadid has been busy doing normal things any 21-year-old living in a big city would. Last week, she was spotted in London buying Corona from a grocery store and casually drinking it in a park. Now back in New York, she’s been busy attending SZA concerts and doing things like showing up at cheap pizza joints in the East Village just before closing time, with Hailey Baldwin. “They talked about how delicious late-night junk food tastes, and how cheap pizza is New Yorkers’ most beloved guilty pleasure,” Page Six reports. She was also spotted at a Knicks–Lakers game, and wore three different tops while sitting courtside; her reactions took us on an emotional rollercoaster. Of course, some of her work is still being rolled out. Her appearance in the Love magazine video Advent calendar debuted on Monday. Her setup involved a sledgehammer and a giant tire. “I love beating the s--t out of tires for fun,” she proclaims via a quote card at the end. Oddly, however, she has not been spotted by the paparazzi beating tires during her downtime.

End-of-Year Designer Departures

Compared to 2016’s merry-go-round of designer departures, 2017 was slightly calmer for the fashion world’s job board. Until recently, the biggest shakeups had been Riccardo Tisci stepping down from Givenchy in September and Christopher Bailey announcing he’d end his 17 years at Burberry next year. Yet in the past week we’ve suddenly seen a flurry of parting-of-the-ways. After four years, Nicola Formichetti, Lady Gaga’s original stylist, announced he’s leaving his post at Diesel simply because his contract was up. Interestingly, David Koma of Mugler stepped down to focus on his own line (he’s been replaced by American designer Casey Cadwallader). Most intriguing, Jonathan Saunders announced last week that he was stepping down immediately as chief creative director of Diane von Furstenberg after just 18 months in the role. It’s quite a whirlwind to end the year in fashion news, but sets up all sorts of intriguing possibilities in 2018. Get in your bets for who will wind up at Burberry now.

An Actual Secret Pregnancy

Kylie Jenner’s and Khloe Jenner’s pregnancies are the second-worst-kept secrets in America, after Donald Trump’s cable news and fast food habits. Neither sister will actually publicly confirm what we all already know until 2018. Although it’s apparently not completely impossible to keep a celebrity pregnancy secret. On Monday, the world found out that retired tennis player Anna Kournikova gave birth to twins with longtime boyfriend Enrique Iglesias, despite no one ever reporting she was actually pregnant (in fact, some people may have learned yesterday that Kournikova and Iglesias were still together in the first place). Kournikova was once upon a time one of the most talked about women on the planet and was a shared obsession of both the sports press and the tabloid press. She was also, at one point, one of the most Googled people alive. If anything, though, Kournikova proves that there is hope for privacy after infamy (something current It girls may either be relieved or terrified to realize). She’s mostly spent the past decade living quietly in Miami—apparently so much so that she was able to keep an entire pregnancy secret.
