A rare weekend where everyone in Hollywood should be happy with the box office. Yes, Thor: Ragnarok held onto its top spot, and in just 10 days it’s already surpassed the total domestic gross of the first two Thor movies. Daddy’s Home 2 and Murder on the Orient Express battled it out for the number-two spot, with Daddy’s ultimately taking it with $30 million to Murder’s $28.8. Those are both healthy bows, especially considering they’re of genres that can be tricky sells. Comedy has been having a tough 2017 at the box office (Girls Trip aside), while Murder’s glitzy, star-studded murder mystery was squarely aimed at adults. A little lower down the list, Lady Bird managed to crack the top 10 after expanding to 37 theaters. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, which may very well give Frances McDormand her second Oscar, also opened in four theaters and took home $80,000 per screen, the year’s third-best per-screen average.

In a case of complicated Hollywood deals, director Brett Ratner made a whole bunch of money off Wonder Woman. His RatPac-Dune Entertainment company co-produced the flick. Ratner is now facing several sexual harassment accusations, and in the latest development, Ellen Page, who Ratner directed in X-Men 3, claimed he forcibly and crudely outed her on set at a time when she was still grappling with her orientation. Well, now Wonder Woman Gal Gadot has given an ultimatum: it’s either her or Ratner. According to Page Six, Gadot is threatening to not return for the sequel unless Ratner’s company is dropped from the film and he doesn’t profit off of it. It seems like it should be a rather easy decision for Warner Bros. and DC to make.
Leonardo DiCaprio has over 20 million followers on Instagram, but it’s easy to forget he even has an account. The star doesn’t really make much news with his picture choices, and rarely ever posts a selfie. You’ll certainly never see candid snaps of any of his rumored girlfriends, either. DiCaprio doesn’t use the social network so much to give fans a peek into his private world, but rather to, well, fanboy out over nature. A noted environmentalist, DiCaprio seems to really get a kick out of just posting picture of animals of all types: monkeys, manta rays, horned larks—you name it. Even more telling is the fact that he only follows 21 other accounts, the World Wildlife Foundation, National Geographic, and the Sierra Club among them. There’s plenty of ways for celebs to pull power moves on Instagram (blank accounts, highly curated grids, or just straight-up deleting), but DiCaprio has found a new one: using the ’gram to push your passions.
