Atomic Blonde finally kicks (and punches ...and shoots) its way into theaters this weekend after half-a-summer of anticipation. The film finds Charlize Theron in full on super spy mode. In fact, she seems to kick as much butt, drink as much liquor and sleep with as many beautiful women in the flick as James Bond in one of his average flicks, which has led to comparisons. The critics are mostly on board, with The Chicago Sun-Times calling it “deliriously entertaining.” Critics are clearly not on board with The Emoji Movie, as if that needed to be said. The weekend’s other big wide-release has a 0 (or should we say 0️⃣?) percent on Rotten Tomatoes. If you’re looking for other options, your best bet is to stay at home and watch Jessica Williams's The Incredible Jessica James on Netflix.

Doing Movies, Honestly

Turns out Reese Witherspoon really, really likes this TV stuff. Fresh off news that a second go of Big Little Lies is in the earliest stages of development (i.e. nothing is for certain yet, but they’re thinking of ideas) comes news that Witherspoon has another show in the works. This time with an old Friend-Jennifer Aniston (Witherspoon, if you recall, had a recurring role as one of Rachel’s sisters on Friends). The series, which will be shopped around to prestige cable channels and streaming services, will be set in the world of morning television but there’s little more information than that. In any event, Aniston’s impending return to the small screen makes her the sixth and final friend to finally return to television since the show’s end in 2004. Back then, everyone couldn’t wait to get off television so they could seek movie stardom. Nowadays, it’s the complete opposite.

Not Being in St. Tropez

Despite hitting the streets in questionable styles like homemade fanny packs, Leonardo DiCaprio cleans up quite nicely in a tuxedo when he has to. Naturally, he had to host the fourth annual Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation fundraising gala in St. Tropez on Wednesday night (don’t worry. He flew commercial). The guest list was so full of A-Listers that there were quite a few interesting reunions. DiCaprio caught up with his Titantic co-stars Kate Winselt and Billy Zane, while famous exes Sean Penn and Madonna were both in attendance. This being a DiCaprio event, there was also a small gathering of supermodels including Constance Jablonski, Imaan Hammam, Ginta Lapina, KarolΓna KurkovΓ‘, Lindsay Ellingson, and Doutzen Kroes as well. Check out all of the photos here, and then, considering it was an environmental fundraiser, go out and do something good for mother earth today, like picking up some litter or something.
