The Guardian review gets straight to the point and just dubs it “his best film so far” right in the headline. Variety calls it “bravura.” The Hollywood Reporter's review calls it an “impressionist masterpiece.” A dramatization of World War II’s Dunkirk evacuation, Nolan splits the story into three different storylines and intercuts between them freely. This, is, as any teen girl can tell you, also the film that marks the acting debut of Harry Styles. How does he do in it? “Perfectly strong” as far as acting debuts go, and seemingly better received than Ed Sheeran on Game of Thrones. Apparently the poor lad has had to delete his Twitter due to the backlash. | | | | | | | Twitter is still aflame over the fact that the 13th iteration of the Time Lord, the iconic British character in Doctor Who, will be the first played by a woman (Jodie Whittaker to be exact), but we have another humble proposal: a female James Bond. And we already have the perfect actress in mind: Charlize Theron. Already an Oscar winner, Theron has reinvented herself in recent years as one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars (see: Mad Max: Fury Road, The Fate of the Furious, and the upcoming Atomic Blonde). She’s got the stunt scene and fighting chops, and Chris Hemsworth is even on board. “She's smart as hell. She's physically able,” he told W. “I worked with her on Snow White and the Huntsman. Watching her in those fight scenes, doing it in high heels, by the way, and an eight foot long gown was even more impressive." Of course, there would be backlash, but letting a female play a role traditionally given to men has worked out for the franchise before. Just ask Judi Dench. | | | | The Celebrity Takeover of the GOP? | Well, if Donald Trump can get the party’s presidential nomination, what’s stopping other celebrities from getting involved in politics under the Republican party’s big tent. Heck, this is the GOP that has already brought us President Ronald Reagan, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Congressmen Sonny Bono. Why not a few more famous faces on the ballot? Noted Trump supporter Kid Rock is apparently toying with the idea of running for Senate from his native Michigan, and CNN reports that Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren is already warning her fellow Democrats not take the possibility of Sen. "Bahwitdaba" as a joke. Meanwhile, out in California, Caitlyn Jenner also says that she’s considering a run for Senate as well. And, you know, at this point in our history, it does seem like somehow a Kardashian-Jenner clan member might actually find themselves in public office. | | | | | | | | | | | Supermodel Miranda Kerr married Snapchat founder Even Spiegel in a dress from Dior this May, and has finally shared some pictures. | | | | | | | | Chace Crawford, 32 (Gossip Boy) Priyanka Chopra, 35 (Bollywood and Hollywood Bombshell) Kristen Bell, 37 (Princess Voice) M.I.A., 42 (Maker of Both Trouble and Bangers) Vin Diesel, 50 (Failed Rapper Turned Action Star) Wendy Williams, 53 (Has All The Tea That’s Fit to Spill) | | | | | | |
