Ivanka’s Fabulous Neighbor

Ivanka Trump

On Saturday night, activists held a “Queer Dance Party For Climate Justice” outside of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s new Washington, D.C. home, and one of the Trump-Kushner’s new neighbors came out to watch the protest go-down in a fur coat with a glass of white wine in hand and a beaming smile on her face. Naturally, she quickly became an internet hero. The neighbor, Dianne Bruce, has accepted her internet fame (even if she doesn’t know what “go viral” means exactly), and says, that, yes, she enjoyed the night. Identifying as a liberal Democrat, she tells Cosmopolitan she’s seen too many people come and go in D.C. to be too upset at Ivanka, but also doesn’t necessarily appreciate the “tacky” sawhorses and port-a-potties the secret service has installed in her neighborhood. “Are you really that important?” she said of her new neighbor. Well, as the new “special assistant to the president” she does think she’s important, but doesn't think she’s “complicit.” “If being complicit is wanting to be a force for good and to make a positive impact, then I’m complicit,” Trump told CBS This Morning in a new interview, apparently refuting a Saturday Night Live sketch. Wow, what a time to be Ivanka.

Political Scions as Models

  Out Text Logo

Regular Scions

Celebrity scions, as we all know by now, are the hottest thing in the modeling world. It takes more than the proper height and a pretty face nowadays to make it on the runway. It takes a famous last name as well. Modeling agencies have been signing up the children of actors, musicians, former models and even reality TV stars left and right, but IMG Models just pulled off something of a political coup by signing Bill and Hillary Clinton’s nephew Tyler Clinton to their men’s board. The young Clinton, son of Bill’s half-brother Roger, is even moving to New York for the gig. Though, don’t necessarily expect more political kid models to join the ranks. The D.C. class is uber-protective of their family’s image, more than Hollywood could ever be. There was, for instance, some recent rumors that fashion brands had high hopes of getting Malia Obama to model (unsourced gossip, but something we don’t have too hard of a time believing). Of course, aside from her family’s reputation, Obama also is expected to start Harvard University next fall.

Artist Feuds

Actress Feuds

There’s no better time for Susan Sarandon to address a long rumored real-life feud of her own while starring in FX’s Feud: Bette vs Joan. For years, Sarandon was followed by rumors that she didn’t get on with co-star Julia Roberts on the set of Stepmom, but  she took to Twitter to clear it all up. “Press printed that Julia & I hated each other during Stepmom. Found out it was my PR person creating rumors,” she wrote. She’s denied the rumors, but never that it the result of her own people working behind her back. Though, feuds are fun when the participants are willing and cheeky. Take the simmering feud between English artists Anish Kapoor and Stuart Semple. It’s a long tale, but started because Kapoor was granted exclusive rights to use a material known as Vantablack, the world’s darkest material, exclusively in art. Semple set out to create the world’s second blackest black and recently released his own “Black 2.0” which is available for all artists in the world to use ...except for Kapoor. As it turns out, scientists are already working on another supposedly blackest black material, that would be blacker than Semple’s and more practical to use than Kapoor’s.

@tarikkaljanac

This dose of unapologetic eye candy is for a good cause. We swear. Tarik Kaljanac was one of the models who stole the show and strutted his stuff for a good cause on Monday night for Jeffrey Fashion Cares, one of fashion’s favorite LBGTQ fundraisers that just happens to feature ample beefcake. See him in action here
