Fashion show front rows are often filled with the usual suspects, so it was to much surprise yesterday that the show for up-and-coming British designer Richard Quinn pulled off what may have been the biggest front-row coup in history: None other than Queen Elizabeth II strolled in to take a seat next to Vogue editor Anna Wintour. It was the first fashion week show the queen had ever seen in her 91 years. However, the monarch wasn’t shopping for herself (Quinn’s designs might be a bit too avant-garde for Her Majesty), but rather she was there to present Quinn with the first-ever Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design, which is meant to highlight an emerging designer who champions sustainable practices.

At times, Victoria Beckham seems like one of the most serious people on the planet and that there’s nothing she takes more seriously than her own outfits. But actually, folks, she’s got a good sense of humor about it all. Last year she set the Internet ablaze by stepping out in a graphic T-shirt that read “Fashion Stole My Smile.” She continued the trend this season at London Fashion Week, and this time her shirt read, “It’s A Dark But Happy Place.” "I think Victoria Victoria Beckham always has an element of sense of humor and personality in it," she told W. "I’m always poking fun at myself, and this is based on me, behind sunglasses. It’s dark, but I’m having fun." Unfortunately for Spice Girls fans, it doesn’t seem like the stage will be Beckham’s happy place anytime soon. She’s also recently shot down rumors of a reunion tour. Though the group of girls recently announced they’ve joined forces to work on something together, it may be more in the vein of curating their own legacy. “We’re just looking at how we pass that message, as opposed to us going on tour or recording or doing a TV show,” Beckham told WWD. “It’s not about that. It’s about us looking at the legacy and protecting it.”

Paul Thomas Anderson’s Autonomy

Tiffany Haddish is still riding high from her breakout role in Girls Trip, but you’re about to see her in a lot more very, very soon. She’s in negotiations to star in a mob drama with none other than Melissa McCarthy, has plans to costar in an upcoming TBS sitcom with 30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan (see the trailer here), and will also voice a toucan in an upcoming adult-oriented Netflix cartoon from some of the people behind BoJack Horseman. Yet, the project we’re most excited about is the one that remains unofficial: her collaboration with There Will Be Blood director Paul Thomas Anderson. The director let it be known he was a Haddish fan at an awards ceremony earlier this year, and even though he hasn’t met her yet, he’s still raving about her to The Los Angeles Times. “Don’t just be fooled by how funny she is. She just has a fierceness,” he said. When the interviewer suggested he might put Haddish on screen opposite his longtime partner Maya Rudolph, Anderson was down with the idea. “Absolutely! That’s a combustible combination, the two of them. That’s what you dream of as a director.” Anderson seems like an exacting director who doesn’t make films on whims, but he’s pretty much backed himself into a corner now and absolutely has to make this movie. Assuming, of course, Haddish has time in her schedule.
