Yes, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall, and even the recently mysterious Kylie are the latest to pose for the label’s “Our Family. #MyCalvins” ads. The sisters strip down to their classic CK underwear and also wear denim from the upcoming CK Jeans line, while sprawled out on one of Raf’s trademark quilts. Of course, these also happen to be the first new photos anyone has seen of Kylie in a long time. So, how was the issue of the bump that may or may not be there handled? Well, it’s strategically camouflaged by one of those quilts. Although CK did not directly score the ultimate coup of its latest campaign also being an official belated pregnancy announcement, it did get all five sisters to pose for one campaign—an attention-generating move all on its own. Speaking of Kylie, there are also rumors that when she’s a mom, she may reinvent herself on social media as something of a mommy blogger. The Worst of Film Jennifer Lawrence, Controversially Before the world’s attention turns to the Oscars race, let us take a moment to discuss the nominations for the only ceremony that recognizes the worst in film: the Razzies. Now in their 37th year, the long-running Hollywood joke announced their nominations yesterday, but not without some controversy. Yes, they went big on nominations for films like The Emoji Movie, The Mummy, and Transformers 5, but they also really went in on divisive art-house flick mother!, nominating Darren Aronofsky for worst director, Javier Bardem for worst actor, and Jennifer Lawrence for worst actress. The last nomination proved particularly controversial, because though the film had its issues, Lawrence’s performance isn’t one of them. Even people who hated the film thought Lawrence did just fine. Then again, folks, it’s not that serious. It’s an intentional joke. But it is kind of amazing how many horrible movies from 2017 managed to slip by without any nominations. Monster Trucks, Justice League, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, the Weinstein-produced Tulip Fever, The Book of Henry, and The Snowman were all ignored. Chloë Sevigny’s Turn as Lizzie Borden Mainstream Flicks For a certain set of people, Chloë Sevigny and Kristen Stewart costarring in a film about a lesbian serial killer is a dream, and it’s a dream that seems best suited to come to fruition at Sundance. Yes, the indie film fest that is one of the first steps in figuring out next year’s potential awards-ceremony flicks is underway in Utah, and it saw the premiere of Lizzie, the aforementioned serial killer flick that stars Sevigny as the infamous Lizzie Borden. Our reporter in the field says that while the film has some issues, owing to its director’s choices, Sevigny gives the best performance of her career. Elsewhere at the fest, that Sorry to Bother You is getting attention is something truly delightful and truly bizarre. It stars Lakeith Stanfield as a black telemarketer who uses a “white voice” to get ahead of the competition. “It’s so funny, so handmade, and such a stylistic ’80s/’90s throwback that it feels totally separate from the usual slick Sundance films in competition,” says our reviewer. Meanwhile, Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot is the long-awaited reunion of director Gus Van Sant and star Joaquin Phoenix, but interestingly, it’s the performances of two rock goddesses—Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and The Gossip’s Beth Ditto—getting a lot of the attention.
