'Dynasty' and 'Miami Vice' are returning to TV. Kristen Stewart loves grilled cheese. It's a metaphor.

Probably Those 80s TV Reboots in Reality

There’s news of so many reboots these days that it’s hard to keep track, so you’re forgiven if it slipped your mind that the CW decided to reboot Dynasty. They've gone through with it and have just delivered a four minute sneak peek that is...something. It’s a faithful reboot, more or less, (except “Krystle” is now “Cristal” and the character played by Heather Locklear on the original is now a gay man, natch), but, honestly, the fashion leave something to be desired and the sole cat fight in the preview doesn’t involve a fountain! The character of Alexis isn’t present yet, but Joan Collins didn’t show up on the original show until season two. On the same day, word broke that NBC was developing a reboot of Miami Vice to be produced by Vin Diesel. The original was known less for its plotting, and more for its groundbreaking visuals (and fashion), so good luck with recapturing that lightening in a bottle. In case you were wondering about other ‘80s dramas, well here's a rundown: The Dallas reboot already failed. 21 Jump Street is now a comedy movie franchise. A MacGyver reboot is on its second season at CBS. The A Team movie reboot was a flop. Hmmm, we guess Cagney & Lacey is still available for reboot if anyone wants to dare.

Angelyne, L.A. Icon

Sunset Boulevard’s Biggest Mystery

These days you can blast your image out to the world via Instagram, and if it catches the right eyes, who knows, you could wind up an influencer with your own rosé line and a spot in the next Dolce & Gabbana runway show. Decades ago it wasn’t so easy, but it wasn’t exactly impossible. Take only-in-Los Angeles cult icon Angelyne. In the early ‘80s, images of the woman started popping up on billboards in the city advertising nothing but herself. Noted for her big blonde hair and pink wardrobe, she’d often be spotted cruising around L.A. in a signature pink Corvette. Along with some forays into music and art, she’s mostly known as someone you spot in Los Angeles. In a way, she’s one of the foremothers of the Kim Kardashians and Paris Hiltons of today. Except, no one really knew her real backstory or real name until The Hollywood Reporter got a tip and decided to go in. According to their story, Angelyne isn’t a Kansas-transplant who moved to L.A. to make it big, but rather the locally born daughter of two Holocaust survivors originally named Renee Tami Goldberg who is quite a bit older than she previously let on. When asked about it, Angelyne refused to confirm and told the journalist, “I know you want it to be true because you're Jewish — and that's adorable!" When asked for how she’d best described herself she offered a "Rorschach test in pink."

Fixed Sexuality

Kristen Stewart doesn’t like talking about her personal life per se, but at this point she seems to realize that she needs to speak up a bit if only for the benefit of young fans who, like her, aren’t exactly straight. So, no, she won’t address specific things like her current girlfriend Stella Maxwell, but she will give the interviewer a quick course in sexuality 101 even if it means using food analogies. In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar U.K. she says that she’s never faked a relationship and was deeply in love with everyone she’s dated (a quick refresher of which can be found here). Yes, even the men, for those of you keeping score at home. In fact, she’s open to dating men again. "Yeah, totally. Definitely,” she said when asked. “Some people aren't like that. Some people know that they like grilled cheese and they'll eat it every day for the rest of their lives. I want to try everything. If I have grilled cheese once, I'm like, 'That was cool, what's next?'"

Cindy Sherman
@_cindysherman_

Artist Cindy Sherman has been on Instagram for a while now, but until now she’s kept her profile private. On Wednesday, she decided to open it up to the public. It should come as no surprise that the artist known best for manipulating images of herself in portraits is a big, big fan of abusing filters and Photoshop apps to spooky effect.
