Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the play that finds Potter and his pals in adulthood and was intended as a sequel to the books, just sweeped the Olivier Awards. The play won nine of its eleven nominations at the London equivalent of New York’s Tony Awards, making it the most honored play in Olivier history. That sweep includes multiple acting awards, best direction, multiple technical categories, and, of course, top honors for best new play. It won everything it was nominated for except best choreography and musical achievement (which, incidentally, would have gone to Imogen Heap, the pop star best known for her very millennial “Let Go.”). The play will of course soon find itself aboard a transatlantic quidditch broom with the intention of sweeping up Tonys. The play’s American debut is rumored to begin in 2018 at the Lyric Theater. In return, America is soon sending over a production of Hamilton to London’s West End, which may every well staging a revolution at next year’s Olivier awards. | | |  | | Of course, live stage events can’t go on forever, and Las Vegas may soon be out one of its top acts. Britney Spears has been a top draw on the Vegas strip since 2013, but according to Billboard, the show will come to an end later this year with a final staging on New Year’s Eve (talk about what’s sure to be a hot ticket). In between then and now Britney will also find time for a mini-international tour (she has gigs booked from Israel to Japan over the summer), but it might not be the end of Spears in Vegas all together. "We are done with this show, and our next move is undecided,” Spears’ manager Larry Rudolph told Billboard. “We are still talking with Caesars Entertainment and other interested parties in Las Vegas.” Though, Spears could also likely return to touring instead. | | | | | What’s the point of hiding your love on social media when the entire world knows you’re dating? Over the weekend, both Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez decided “Eh, what the heck? Let’s make it Instagram official” in regards to their latest beaus...and it’s more than just IG stories this time. Gomez popped up on The Weeknd’s ‘Gram giving the singer a smooch on the forehead. If you were somehow the only person left he didn’t know the pair was dating, well now you do. Meanwhile, Lopez kept things a little more cryptic but surely knew what she was doing when she posted a photo of her legs tangled up with what appear to be Alex Rodriguez’s on her Instagram. The image may be all dark denim and white sneakers, but everyone knows what it means. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Is Diane Keaton the most underrated person on Instagram? We like to think so.
